Markus Rheindorf has been teaching and doing researching in discourse analysis since 2001. Following a degree in English Literature, he completed a PhD in Applied Linguistics in 2006, studying abroad in the Netherlands and the U.S. His general research interests include theories and methodologies in critical and historical discourse analysis (specifically corpus linguistics, argumentation and visual/multimodal analysis, data visualisation), the construction of national identities, nationalism and populism, gender politics, and popular culture.
